Frequently Asked Questions
What are Barre Sculpt classes?
Low-impact, high-intensity, full-body workouts personally taught by Bev and inspired by physical therapy principles. Expect stronger muscles, improved posture, greater flexibility, and a lean, balanced physique.
I’m new — where should I start?
Most new clients jump right into class. Bev provides thoughtful modifications and personal coaching throughout. Private sessions are available for extra guidance.
How often should I attend?
Three to four classes weekly for optimal results.
Why do my muscles shake?
Muscle fatigue is part of the sculpting process — it means your body is working exactly as intended.
How do I schedule a private session?
Please contact us at bev@barrebytheseafitness.com to schedule. Private sessions are held during non-class studio hours.
What if I cancel late?
Reservations must be canceled at least 12 hours prior to class time.
Because class sizes are limited and many classes fill and maintain waitlists, less than 12 hours notice will result in a $25 late-cancel/no-show fee for Unlimited Members or loss of class for Package Clients.
This policy applies to all reservations and all circumstances.
If you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible, regardless of timing, to provide waitlisted clients the greatest opportunity to attend.
What if I'm sick?
Please do not attend class if you are experiencing symptoms of illness.
For the health, safety, and comfort of our clients and instructors, we ask that clients stay home when ill.
If you become ill and are unable to attend class, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible, even if you are within the 12-hour cancellation window. Prompt cancellations help provide waitlisted clients the greatest opportunity to attend.
Clients who appear visibly ill, are actively coughing, sneezing, feverish, or otherwise exhibiting symptoms that may impact the health and comfort of others may be asked to leave class.
How do I contact the studio?
How early should I arrive for my first class?
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class so we can get you checked in, show you the space, and answer any questions. If you arrive late to your first class, you will be asked to reschedule.
What should I bring class?
We provide all equipment and a fresh towel.
Please bring:
A positive attitude and sense of humor
Socks required - grip socks available for purchase at the studio
A water bottle
Comfortable workout clothes (leggings, capris, tank or tee)
Please note:
No cell phones during class
Shoes are removed before entering the studio
How soon will I feel the results?
Most clients see and feel results within 8–10 classes, especially when attending 3–4 times per week.
Can I take Barre Sculpt while pregnant?
Please consult your physician first. If approved, barre can be a safe and effective workout with proper modifications. Please inform your instructor before class. If you feel dizzy, faint, or uncomfortable, stop immediately and consult a physician.
Can I cross-train with Barre Sculpt?
Yes. Barre improves core strength, balance, flexibility, and muscular endurance, making it an excellent complement to other sports.
How does the waitlist work?
If a spot becomes available, clients are automatically added from the waitlist in the order they joined.
You will receive an email notification if you are added to class.
Make sure email notifications are enabled in your account.
If you do not have an available class in your package when a spot opens, the reservation will be offered to the next client on the waitlist.
Because many classes fill and maintain waitlists, we encourage clients to cancel as soon as they know they cannot attend.
Please do not place yourself on a waitlist for another class time if you are already enrolled in a class you intend to attend.
If you are added from a waitlist, it is your responsibility to review and manage any other class reservations on your schedule. Reservations are not automatically canceled when you are added from a waitlist.
Reservations canceled within the 12-hour cancellation window remain subject to the studio's cancellation policy and may result in late-cancel fees or class loss.
Do you have an app for scheduling?
We do not have a branded app, but you can use the Mindbody Fitness App to manage your account and book classes.
Do you offer membership suspensions?
We do not offer membership suspensions for travel or studio closures. However, all members have 24/7 access to 500+ on-demand classes.
